March 30th of 2015 my wife Kristin and I visited Pokhara Nepal. It is the second most populated city in Nepal Though Kathmandu is significantly bigger. Within 35 miles there are 3, 8000 meter peaks; Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu.

It’s a little lake resort town at the base of one of the largest Mountain ranges in the world. It was our place where we would take off to see Upper Mustang by walking. One of the main activities visitors take part in is boating on the lake on a locally built boat. Phewa Lake is right in town and walkable from the main resort district. Vendors line the lakes where these little boats are rowed back and forth from different buddhist and hindu temples.

You can rent a boat for relatively cheap and you can also hire a guide to row it for you and show you the sites. I was lucky enough to see one of the boats being built.

After The boats have lost there floating power they are just left in the lake. There are areas that you row over that are filled with the little ghosts of boats.
